Our actions have consequences that affect the planet. Many of the things we do release harmful gases into the atmosphere and make the earth warmer while disrupting weather and climate patterns, vegetation, and human health. The term “carbon footprint” is increasingly being used in association with climate change.
A “carbon footprint” is the total amount of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions. These greenhouse gases (GHG) keep the earth warm and make it habitable for living organisms. However, an increase in carbon dioxide can lead to increase in global temperature.
“Biofuels” are being promoted as a “low-carbon footprint” alternatives to fossil fuels as they could help to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the related climate change impact from transport.
We are glad to share that an article on the same was published in the newspaper “Dainik Jagran” today, under the authorship of our Biology Faculty Ms Esha Singh. We congratulate her on this achievement!
